Epilepsy York Region, in partnership with the Canadian Epilepsy Alliance (CEA) and epilepsy agencies across Canada, launched this campaign in March 2020 to give individuals living with epilepsy an opportunity to share what it truly means to live with the disease —and to show that they are defined by far more than a diagnosis.
Here’s How You Can Participate
1️⃣ Download and print the sign
2️⃣ Fill in the blank space with your message of support
3️⃣ Take a photo holding your completed sign
4️⃣ Share your photo on social media using #Iam1in100 (for people living with
epilepsy) and #1in100
5️⃣ Tag us so we can see and share your post:
Or use the hashtag #epilepsyyorkregion
6️⃣ Email your photo to info@epilepsyyork.org so we can include it in our
photo gallery
If you have epilepsy, download the sign that says “I have epilepsy and…” In the blank space provided, you can write about how you’re feeling or how you’re handling having epilepsy. You can also write about your hobbies, interests, skills, and life beyond epilepsy.
If you know someone with epilepsy, download the sign that says “Someone I care about has epilepsy and…” In the blank space provided, you can write about their hobbies, interests, skills, and life beyond epilepsy.
The campaign highlights the range of experiences of living with epilepsy and that people with epilepsy are more than just their epilepsy.
Download the material below and help expand the representation of what it means to live with epilepsy.
Please note, by sharing your photo with us, you understand that we will share the photo on our website and social media platforms. No names will be published only pictures. Thank you.
