Categorized as the fourth most common neurological disorder, affecting people of all ages.
Epilepsy is categorized as the occurrence of unanticipated seizures.
1 in 100 people of all ages are affected in the general population, with 70% of cases having no known cause (in Canada).
York Region is now in Stage 3 of the province’s reopening framework allowing us to enjoy some activities outside of our homes. This is great news but please do so safely for your own health and everyone else’s by remembering the following while out in public to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:
1. Wear a mask or face covering.
2. Maintain physical distance of at least 2 metres (or 6 feet) whenever possible.
3. Wash your hands thoroughly and often or use alcohol-based sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
Note: As of 12:01 a.m. Friday July 17, 2020, masks or face coverings are required inside enclosed public spaces in York Region. Also, York Regional Transit (YRT) has its own by-law requiring individuals wear a face covering while on transit vehicles or property. For more information please visit:
