Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) Therapy® Information Night presented by LivaNova

  From the LivaNova website:

LivaNova is a global medical technology company built on decades of experience and a relentless commitment to improve the lives of patients around the world. As pioneers of the VNS (Vagus Nerve Stimulation) Therapy® System, we continue to advance medical device solutions for people affected by drug-resistant epilepsy and treatment-resistant depression. We are dedicated to helping create meaningful products and therapies that transform lives each and every day.

During this presentation, we will discuss the treatment options for people living with drug-resistant epilepsy that are highlighted in the Ontario Epilepsy Guidelines, with a main focus on Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) Therapy®. We will discuss what VNS Therapy® is, how VNS Therapy® works, and who candidates for VNS Therapy® are, while also discussing some of the benefits that people with VNS Therapy® may experience. There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions, as well. The purpose of this presentation is to provide patient-focused education on VNS Therapy®, and to ensure that people living with epilepsy are aware of the Ontario Epilepsy Guidelines and the treatment options listed in the Ontario Epilepsy Guidelines, so they can access the care they deserve.

Sunday, February 9 - Children & Family Event

Spread your love for Valentine's Day with EYR!

Come and connect with other children living with epilepsy and their families!

We will be making friendship houses that you can decorate to take home and either keep or eat later along with writing some special valentines day cards and creating some heart-filled crafts!

There will be a light lunch served during the event so the kids can snack while they create!

During the event we will have a separate area set up for the parents who will be joining us where you can all connect and chat with one another away from the kids. This will give the parents some privacy for conversation and the children a sense of independence as they are working in a separate area, we will have one or two team members from EYR within both spaces at all times.

Event time: 1pm to 4pm

Event location:  6356 Main Street, Stouffville, ON, L4A 1G9

To RSVP email pjemmett@epilepsyyork.org or call 905-640-8000 by Monday, February 3rd.
